Wie funktioniert die IPL Akne Behandlung?

Geniale Alternative zu antibiotischen Akne-Therapie, denn mit dieser speziellen Lichttherapie sagen wir den Aknebakterien den Kampf an! Die betroffenen Stellen, oder auch das ganze Gesicht, werden mit breitbandig gepulstem Licht (IPL- Intense Pulsed Light) mit einem bestimmten Wellenlängenspektrum behandelt. Das hat zur Folge, dass die für Akne verantwortlichen Bakterien abgetötet werden und die vorhandenen Entzündungen dadurch heilen können. Das geschieht folgendermaßen: Propionibacterium acnes speichern Farbstoffe (Porphyrine), die als Zielchromofor für die Wellenlänge des IPL dienen und zu einer Abtötung dieser Bakterien führen (das Prinzip ist ähnlich zu verstehen wie bei einer Laser Haarentfernung, nur dass der Laser mit nur einer bestimmten Wellenlänge arbeitet). Gleichzeitig wird eine wesentliche Verbesserung von frischen Aknenarben festzustellen sein, da auch ein starker Regenerationsprozess gestartet wird und das IPL auch mit dem Farbstoff in der Narbe reagiert und diese aufhellt.

IPL treatments help reduce bacteria on the skin and relieve inflammation associated with acne. This special light energy targets and activates the porphyrins in the bacteria. Porphyrins are light-sensitive compounds present in acne bacteria. When activated by the IPL light, they release a reactive oxygen compound that eventually kills the bacteria.

Avoid the sun, in any case the first week after treatment. A suitable sunscreen with SPF 50+ is indispensable. Also, in the first 3 days, sports and unnecessary sweating should be avoided.
It is recommended to avoid this procedure during the summer months, especially in high temperatures and strong sunlight. This is because after the treatment the skin may be more sensitive to sunlight, which increases the risk of damage from UV rays.
